Nina’s tree house

L’uomo e la donna moderni hanno sempre più necessità di luoghi idilliaci e particolari al di fuori del frenetico mondo contemporaneo.
I Social media, la sovrabbondanza di informazioni e la pressione sul lavoro portano frustrazione e rendono difficile trovare un equilibrio personale. Perciò si praticano lo yoga e la meditazione, ci si allena nella consapevolezza del proprio sé e si costruiscono piccole strutture nei giardini dietro casa.
Diventa sempre più chiaro, in questa situazione di stress, che tutti necessitano di luoghi e spazi per ritrovare la propria energia e l’equilibrio in questa concitata esistenza.
Sull’unico terreno verde del quartiere della Quarantena, nella zona portuale di Rotterdam, questa necessità è stata concretizzata da una mostra chiamata “Quarantine contemporary hermitages”.
Per tre mesi, ventiquattro padiglioni, realizzati da artisti ed architetti, sono stati in mostra in questo luogo.
Camposaz ha fatto parte di questa mostra e ha creato con un team internazionale la “Nins’s tree house” in soli dieci giorni. La struttura serve come luogo di meditazione. Il concetto di “Nina’s tree house” sviluppa un’esperienza a vari livelli in un magnifico luogo immerso nel verde. La costruzione è circondata da una foresta di bamboo, da maestosi alberi e dal fiume Maas.
Nell’identificare questi specifici temi del luogo si è elaborata un’idea forte. Nel triangolo al centro della struttura sono convogliati simbolicamente tre elementi: la terra, la foresta e il cielo. Ognuno dei bracci che si sviluppano dai lati del triangolo fa riferimento ad uno di questi elementi, il ché è percepibile camminando lentamente tra i vari livelli.
Elementi sottilmente integrati come per esempio un’altalena, una panchina o una cornice di legno che si aprono su una certa veduta offrono un momento di pace e al tempo stesso danno significato alle tre tematiche.
Il momento saliente dell’esperienza lo si ha all’ultimo livello, dove si ha una vista sul fiume Maas e sul porto di Rotterdam.
“Nina’s tree house” propone spazi per la contemplazione su tre livelli e perciò crea una forte connessione con il luogo.
People need individual, idyllic places outside of our busy world. Over-information, social media and high work pressure frustrate people in their search for personal balance. Therefore we practise yoga and meditation, we train in mindfulness and build tiny houses in our backyards. It becomes more and more clear; we are full, we need quiet spaces and places to regain our energy and find balance in our busy existence. On the unique and green Quarantine terrain, in the harbour area of Rotterdam, this necessity has been represented by an exhibition called ‘Quarantine, contemporary hermitages’. For 3 months, 24 pavilions, made by artists and architects, were exhibited on the terrain.
Camposaz was part of the exhibition and created woth an international team the hermitage called ‘Nina’s Treehouse’ in just 10 days. The pavilion serves as a place for contemplation. The concept of Nina’s Treehouse focuses on a multiple experience of the paradisical green environment. The hermitage is surrounded by an earthy bamboo forest, multiple grand trees and the
Maas river. By identifying these site specific themes, a strong concept was developed. On the triangle at the centre of the structure three themes come together; earth, forest and sky. Each of the arms of the triangle has its own theme, which will be slowly experienced while walking up through the levels. Subtly integrated features such as a swing, a bench or a frame that captures a certain view provide a moment of peace and at the same time give shape to the three themes. The highlight of the experience is provided by the last platform, offering views over the Maas river and the Rotterdam harbour. Nina’s Treehouse provides space for contemplation over three levels and thus creates a strong connection with its site.
