L’opera si articola sul confine tra una foresta e uno spazio aperto al paesaggio circostante mozzafiato nei Carpazi Meridionali delle Tarcu Mountains, in Romania. La struttura, progettata e costruita in 10 giorni con un team di 32 persone provenienti da varie nazionalità, è insieme un esperimento nel campo del legno e la messa in opera di una piccola infrastruttura per un turismo attento e sensibile ai temi della natura e dell’ecologismo.
L’iniziativa è promossa dalla collaborazione tra WWF Romania e Camposaz, organizzazione italiana che promuove la collaborazione tra giovani architetti e designer provenienti da tutto il mondo per progettare e costruire strutture che valorizzano l’ambiente antropizzato o, come in questo caso il paesaggio incontaminato.
Il workshop è stato realizzato nell’ambito del progetto LIFE-Bison, attraverso il quale WWF Romania e Rewilding Europe con il sostegno del programma LIFE dell’Unione Europea, hanno reintrodotto dal 2013 il bisonte selvatico in questi luoghi, estinto da circa 200 anni.
I visitatori e i locali potranno godere di questo osservatorio naturalistico, sostare e osservare il paesaggio circostante per poi proseguire il cammino nella straordinaria vastità di questi spazi incontaminati.
The structure is set on the border between a forest and an incredibly fascinating open space in the Southern Carpathian of the Tarcu Mountains, in Rumenia. The structure designed and built in ten days, with a team of 32 people coming from different foreign countries, represents both an experiment in the field of wood and the realization of a small infrastructure for a sensitive and caring form of tourism in terms of nature and environment .
The initiative is supported by WWF Rumania and Camposaz, the latter being an Italian organization which promotes the collaboration among young architects and designers coming from all over the world to design and build structures which exploit the anthropized environment or, like in this case, a wild landscape.
The workshop was possible thanks to the LIFE-Bison project and the European Union program LIFE, which allowed WWF Romania and Rewilding Europe to reintroduce the wild bison in these areas since 2013, after 200 years of extinction.
Visitors and dwellers will be able to enjoy this naturalistic observatory, stop there and appreciate the view in their walks in this extraordinary and uncontaminated vastness.
